Saturday Scenes: Inside the Hermitage

As the second largest museum in the world, the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia, is a must-see for anyone visiting the city. For me, though, I probably enjoyed the interior of the building itself more than I did the actual artwork housed inside. Gold? Check. Marble? Check. Lots of sculptures and frescoes? Check and check.

  1. You are stirring our excitement. We’ll be crossing Russia next month and standing in Saint Petersburg by the end of July. One of the biggest pulls for us is the Hermitage. Thank you for all the inspiration across your site as it is wonderful fodder for travel junkies and lovers of exploration.
