I endured my fair share of harrowing rides during my 13-month career break, but the drive from Penjikent to Khujand in Tajikistan may have been the scariest. This is a picture that I took as we drove over the Shakhristan Pass – 3378 meters above sea level. I think I may have held my breath the entire ride!
