I only spent one day in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan – most of it feeling hot, exhausted and annoyed. But when the sun started to go down, I was treated to this sky full of yellow, orange, pink and purple, providing a beautiful backdrop for the statue of Ismail Samani, the founder of the 10th century Samanid Dynasty, on Friendship Square.

Stunning photo, Katie – I always love me a good sunset picture! The colours of the sky are beautiful, especially the pinkish-purple at the top.
Beautiful. I love the grainy silhouette feel of the statue, people and trees. Looks like a nice end to a not so nice day.
