30 Days of Indie Travel Project: Photo and Wanderlust

In an effort to get back on track during the last week of the 30 Days of Indie Travel Project, I am combining Day 26 – Photo – and Day 27 – Wanderlust.

Day 26: Post a photo of your favorite place and tell us what you love about it.

This is a tough one because I really can’t say I have a single favorite place. I like many different places for many different reasons. That being said, I am going to go with Egypt. Yes, the whole country.

Despite the scams and the touts, I found the people to be wonderfully warm-hearted and proud of their country. I spent two weeks dropping my jaw in awe at the temples, pyramids and tombs, made several lasting friendships and took nothing away from my two weeks there but wonderfully happy memories.  love the picture above because it was taken on one of the most fun days of the trip – exploring Karnak Temple in Luxor.

Day 27: Share a photo or video that just makes you want to GO. RIGHT. NOW

I first discovered Long Way Round when I stumbled upon the book at a train station in Germany. I didn’t get around to seeing all of the series until I was already starting to plan for my current trip and watching Ewan and Charley’s experiences traversing so many countries that I plan to visit was so inspiring. I also love the theme song.

*Throughout the month of November, BootsnAll is inviting bloggers from around the world to join them in a daily blogging effort – the 30 Days of Indie Travel Project –  designed to reflect on how our travel experiences over the last year – or whenever – have shaped us and our view of the world. Bloggers can follow the prompts as strictly or loosely as they like, interpreting them in various ways and responding via text, photos or video posted on their own blogs.
