During my five day crossing of the Black Sea (a voyage that should have taken half that time), I always looked forward to watching the sun rise. Not only was it different every day – and beautiful – but it gave me hope each morning that it would finally be the day we would dock in Batumi. By my fifth sunrise, we finally did.

Yeah, pretty much woke up as the sun came up because there was nothing covering our window/porthole.

I did the journey at the end of February/beginning of March and it wasn’t too bad. Hung out on deck with just a fleece on.
